Shockingly slow Uber shift on a Thursday night

On a rainy Thursday night, I started my shift at around 10:30 PM, which is typically a busy time. I headed towards the city centre, but despite my expectations, no jobs came up on my Uber app. I waited for half an hour, but still nothing. I drove around the train station and even went around the entire ring road, but there were no job requests. I covered a distance of 20 miles, including popular areas like the city centre, but it was all dead miles. Shockingly, I did not receive a single job in almost 2 hours. It's not as easy as people think to make over £100 a day on Uber, and my experience that night was proof of that.

In the end, I decided to call it a night and head home. Driving around aimlessly felt like a waste of fuel and money, with no jobs popping up on my Uber app. It was a frustrating experience, especially considering that it was a busy Thursday night. Many people have the misconception that being an Uber driver can earn you more than £100 a day, but in reality, there are times like these where the earnings can be unpredictable and disappointing.
